Islamabad, September 3: The Sikh girl who was abducted and forcefully married to a Muslim man in Pakistan's Nankana Sahib will be handed over to her parents. The family of boy and girl have reached a mutual agreement at the residence of Governor of Pakistan's Punjab province Mohammad Sarwar in Lahore. Earlier, a video of a girl's wedding ceremony has gone viral on social media. Her family in a video message claimed that Jagjit Kaur, the daughter of a priest at Gurudwara Tambu Sahib, was abducted and forcibly converted to Islam. They also sought the intervention of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan into the matter.

On Monday, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh had offered help to the Sikh girl if she wanted to settle in India. "Even after so many days, (Pakistan Prime Minister) Imran Khan has failed to help out Jagjit Kaur, forcibly converted and married against her wishes," the Punjab CM had tweeted yesterday.
On Sunday and Monday, huge protests were carried out across the country to against the forcible conversion of Sikh girl in Pakistan. The protestors also burnt an effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at Teen Murti Marg in Lutyens' Delhi.
