Tel Aviv, October 11: A 25-year-old Israeli woman is being hailed as a hero for her bravery in saving the community of Nir Am from Hamas militants who launched a surprise attack on Israel on Saturday, October 7, 2023. The woman is identified as Inbar Lieberman, and the kibbutz she resides in is located just a mile from the Gaza Strip. Lieberman led a group of residents to kill more than two dozen advancing armed men while defending the community. In the ensuing confrontation, she herself killed five terrorists, while her team accounted for the lives of 20 more assailants over a four-hour period.
As per the New York Post report, Lieberman, who has been serving as the security coordinator of Kibbutz Nir Am since December 2022, heard explosions early on Saturday when Hamas militants launched an early morning surprise attack on Israel. She quickly realised the sounds of the explosions were different from the typical rocket attacks on the kibbutz and took prompt action. She rushed to unlock the armoury and distributed firearms among the 12-member security team. Israel-Palestine War: Hamas Leader Mohammed Deif’s Relatives Killed in Israeli Airstrike in Gaza Strip.
