India's 10 Cities in WEF List Tops Fastest Growing Economies in World

As per to the World Economic Forum report India's economy is booming and among the 10 fastest developing cities in the world between 2019 and 2035 will be in India.

New Delhi, May 21: With just a day left for the announcement of results for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the good news is knocking the doors of India. As per to the World Economic Forum report, India's economy is booming and among the 10 fastest developing cities in the world between 2019 and 2035 will be in India.

Research conducted by research institute Oxford Economics state that Surat, Agra, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Tiruppur, Rajkot, Tiruchirapalli, Chennai and Vijayawada would be the fastest developing cities in the globe in the coming 15 years. The comparison has been drawn based on the annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, say World Economic Forum. India Projected to Grow at 7.1% in FY'20: UN Report.

According to the research agency, Surat will have the fastest economic growth in the world, with an annual GDP growth rate of 9.2 per cent. the second spot is grabbed by Agra which would grow by 8.6 per cent annually.

The third position is occupied by Bengaluru with 8.5 per cent, followed by Hyderabad with 8.45 per cent. Other cities in chronologically decreasing number are Nagpur, Tiruppur, Rajkot, Tiruchirapalli, Chennai and Vijayawada. Climate Action to Boost GDP Growth of Poorer Countries: Study 

Among other global cities whose GDP would rose 8 per cent mark include Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), and Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen (China).
