London, September 4: The Indian High Commission in London was targeted by British Pakistanis after close to 10,000 people held protests in front of the Indian High Commission on Tuesday. The protest also turned violent as eggs, stones, smoke bombs and bottles were hurled at the building. Windows of the building were smashed due to the objects hurled, said reports. The protests were organised against the Indian government's move to revoke Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. "Another violent protest outside the Indian High Commission in London today, 3 September 2019. Damage caused to the premises," the Indian Mission in London tweeted about the incident. Jammu and Kashmir: Governor's Advisor Holds Public Meetings in Srinagar.
Responding to the tweet by India in the UK, London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemned the violent protests, saying it was "unacceptable". Khan said, "I utterly condemn this unacceptable behaviour and have raised this incident with @metpoliceuk to take action."

On August 15, India's Independence Day, a similar protest was held in London and clashes erupted after thousands descended on the streets with the Pakistani and Kashmiri flags.
The Independence Day celebrations by the Indian diaspora in London were disrupted by Pakistan-backed protestors and anti-Khalistani elements, who pelted stones and eggs on embassy building and Indians gathered outside.
The protests were organised against the Indian government's move to revoke Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. On August 5, the government of India announced the abrogation of Article 370, taking away the region's special status. Jammu and Kashmir was also bifurcated into two separate identities and made a Union Territory.
