Mumbai, October 5: A woman from Texas in the United States recently shared her ordeal of using the weight loss drug Ozempic. It must be noted that Ozempic is a drug that is used by type 2 diabetes patients in order to regulate their glucose levels. However, Ozempic drug is widely popularly known for its weight loss properties. Several non-diabetic people in the United States used Ozempic for weight loss. The Ozempic is known for its miraculous weight-reducing effects.
However, the weight loss comes at a cost. Doctors and health experts have flagged the use of Ozempic drug and have raised serious concerns about the side effects of using the drug, reports Newsweek. Professor Maria E Rosas, one of the many who used the Ozempic, also faced side effects of the drug. Rosas, who has been a long-time type 2 diabetes patient, shared her ordeal recently. 'Started Using Ozempic in April 2023'
From mild depression to falling "pieces of skin", Rosas experienced it all. Notably, Rosas had a near-death experience with Ozempic, the miraculous weight loss drug. She said that she was prescribed the drug once a week so that it could relieve her from taking multiple medications in a day.

A few days later, Rosas said she started experiencing excruciating pain in her back, shoulders, and arms. Later in August, she said that she experienced a worse burning pain that affected her genital area and buttocks.
The burning pain allegedly left her with charred skin. "I noticed 'pieces' of skin on my toilet seat and on the tissue paper when I cleaned [my genital] area," Rosas stated. Soon, she approached her doctor, who advised her to discontinue Ozempic. The doctor also cited the drug's side effects, including rashes, itching, and hives. Later, she reported her condition to Ozempic's customer service and the FDA as well. After 20 days of discontinuing the drug, Rosas started to heal, although the burning sensation was still there. "It still hurts when I have to urinate or defecate, and it often starts peeling again because of the friction," she said.
