Peshawar, Aug 1: A popular Pakistani Pashto stage actress and singer was shot dead allegedly by her husband due to domestic dispute in northwest Pakistan today, police said. The incident took place at Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where the actress, Reshma, was living at her parents' home following differences with her husband, they said.

Reshma's brother, Obaidullah, lodged an FIR with the police and accused her husband Faida Khan of committing the crime. According to the FIR, Faida, who was working abroad, had recently returned to the country. Today he went to his in-laws' residence to convince his wife to return home. However, Reshma refused to go with him. Her refusal infuriated Faida who opened fire at his wife, killing her on the spot.
