Bucharest, October 22: The Romania police recently detained a 19-year-old from Switzerland who arrived in the country to find Dracula and get turned into a vampire. Police chased the teenager after he allegedly stole a car to find Dracula. Officials said that the Swiss national travelled to the city of Fagaras in Transylvania last week to meet Dracula at Hoia-Baciu forest on Halloween. However, the teenager reportedly resorted to stealing a car after he ran out of money.
According to reports, the Swiss national broke into a car on October 20 morning to drive off towards his destination. The incident came to light when the vehicle's owner reported it stolen. Following this, the police launched a probe and managed to track the teenager. Amid the police chase, the teenager allegedly drove the vehicle at high speed and hit five cars on his way to Hoia-Baciu forest. At least three people were injured in the dramatic chase. After being detained, the 19-year-old Swiss resident told cops that he wanted to go to the Hoia-Baciu forest in search of his great-great-grandfather, Count Dracula, Vlad Tepes. "I hope he can turn me into a vampire. All my life I've dreamed of this and now I'm here," he said.
According to eyewitnesses, the teenager was allegedly dressed as a vampire slayer and Dracula's archnemesis, Van Helsing. They said that the Swiss national also wore Van Helsing's signature hat and long coat for the trip. It is reported that the teenager broke into traffic at high speed. However, the teenager's "joyride" was cut short as he had to abandon the car and flee on the spot to be eventually caught by the police. After being detained, the teenager was found to be on drugs and even admitted to cops that he was under the influence. Post his arrest, the Swiss national was taken to a hospital for tests to know if there was any psychoactive substance in his blood. During the preliminary investigations, cops also found that the arrested accused did not have a driver's license. While a probe is underway, the three people injured during the police chase include two women and a man, who were immediately taken to hospital for treatment.
