Tel Aviv, November 13: In a remarkable display of quick thinking, teachers at an Israeli kindergarten in Nesher managed to save their students from a Hezbollah drone attack on Tuesday, November 12. Despite no warning siren in Nesher, teachers heard a faint siren from a neighbouring town and swiftly moved the children to the facility’s bomb shelter, a report said.

The Hezbollah drone exploded near the classroom, shattering windows and scattering debris across the outdoor play area, The Times of Israel reported. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) are investigating why no sirens sounded in Nesher, although the early warning system was triggered in other northern areas. Israeli Air Force helicopters were scrambled to intercept the drone but were unsuccessful. Israel-Hezbollah Conflict: 24 Killed in IDF Airstrikes on Southern, Eastern Lebanon.

Sarah Yasour, a teacher at the kindergarten, described the incident as a "miracle of miracles." She recounted, “We heard a very distant siren… and said ‘Alright, let’s go in.’ We were just starting the morning assembly with the kids. Everyone was together. But the moment we heard the siren and I saw that a drone [alert] had come out, I said we’re not taking any chances right now, and within a few seconds we were all in the shelter." Israel-Hezbollah Conflict: Israeli Strikes Kill at Least 15 in Qana, Lebanese Town With Dark History of Civilian Deaths.

Once in the shelter, they heard a loud explosion. Upon exiting, they realised the drone had struck exactly where they had been moments earlier. Fortunately, there were no injuries to staff or children. The drone was one of 190 rockets and drones fired by Hezbollah on Monday, which injured at least seven people. The classroom and playground were left littered with glass and debris from the explosion, as seen in videos uploaded on social media.
