Here’s what Twitter Head Jack Dorsey Thinks about Mark Zuckerberg and Other Tech CEOs

San Francisco, January 24: That Silicon Valley is a close knit community is not news. Elaborating on the time Tech CEOs spend with each other, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey opened up about his experience with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, what he thinks of Tesla Chief Elon Musk and his own future plans.

Dorsey while speaking to Rolling Stone magazine for an extended interview reminisced about the time when he was served a cold goat preparation by Mark Zuckerberg while the Facebook founder followed his philosophy of only consuming the meat he had killed himself. “He made goat for me for dinner,” recalled Dorsey. “He killed the goat.”

Rolling Stone’s Brian Hiatt asked the follow-up question: “In front of you?” No, clarified Dorsey, it was one Zuckerberg had killed earlier – “with a laser gun and then the knife”, before sending the body to the butcher.

RS: A … laser gun?

Dorsey: I don’t know. A stun gun. They stun it, and then he knifed it. Then they send it to a butcher. Evidently in Palo Alto there’s a rule or regulation that you can have six livestock on any lot of land, so he had six goats at the time. I go, “We’re eating the goat you killed?” He said, “Yeah.” I said, “Have you eaten goat before?” He’s like, “Yeah, I love it.” I’m like, “What else are we having?” “Salad.” I said, “Where is the goat?” “It’s in the oven.” Then we waited for about 30 minutes. He’s like, “I think it’s done now.” We go in the dining room. He puts the goat down. It was cold. That was memorable. I don’t know if it went back in the oven. I just ate my salad.

The magazine also asked Dorsey if he was the CEO of Facebook how he'd like to do things differently as the social media platform has been hit with a swarm of privacy controversies over the past year. Apart from his experience with Zuckerberg, Dorsey was asked about his peers such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Dorsey thinks highly of Musk as he responded with, “The folks who are leading the way are folks like Elon. I don’t know of another person on the planet who’s leading us off the planet because of the damage that we’re inflicting to this planet…Those are the conversations we used to have, but we’re not having.”

And finally, Dorsey thinks his role as Twitter CEO is a minor one in the grand scheme of things, as he says, “Looking back, 50 years in the future when it’s still here and I’m gone, my impact will be nothing compared to the impact that people using the platform in those 50 years will have on it. We all have time to add to the song. Then we depart, and it continues to go on.”
