Mallorca, September 7: Two German tourists in their twenties were arrested in Mallorca after causing significant damage, including defecating in a lift and emptying two fire extinguishers at Hotel Leblon in S'Arenal. The tourists, traveling with their partners, also destroyed furniture and a mattress, resulting in damages worth approximately €500 (around INR 50,000).

According to a report in the Daily Express, the duo spent a night in jail before being granted bail by a local court. Disorderly incidents involving tourists are not uncommon on the popular Spanish holiday island, which has seen a tourism boom in recent years. Mallorca is the largest island in the Balearic Islands, where tourism accounts for 45% of the local GDP.
