G20 Summit 2018: PM Narendra Modi Holds Trilateral Talks 'JAI' With Donald Trump And Shinzo Abe on The Sidelines of Global Event

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United States President and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today held a trilateral meet on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Buenos Aires in Argentina.

Buenos Aires, November 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Friday held a trilateral meet on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Buenos Aires in Argentina.  Prime Minister Modi, underlining the importance of relations between Japan, America and India, used the acronym “JAI” and elaborated its glorious meaning in Hindi. PM Modi said, “Both countries are our strategic partners, and both leaders are my good friends. Japan, USA, India acronym is JAI, so 'Jai' in Hindi means success. This sends a good message.”

After the meeting, Trump termed it a great meeting. He said, “We just had a great meeting. Our relationship is extremely great, strong. It is stronger than ever. Earlier in the day, at the informal meeting of the leaders of BRICS on the sidelines of G20 Summit, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the threat that terrorism and radicalism hold to the world. He also met Russian President Vladimir Putin and the United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May. The PM reached Buenos Aires yesterday to attend the 13th edition of G20 Summit. PM Modi is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping during the global event as well. As per reports, PM Modi will return to India on December 3 to resume election campaigning in Rajasthan and Telangana.
