Former Member of Pakistan's National Assembly Syed Ali Raza Abidi Shot Dead in Karachi
Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader and ex-Member of National Assembly of Pakistan Syed Ali Raza Abidi was shot dead in Karachi by two unidentified men.
Karachi, December 25: Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader and ex-Member of National Assembly of Pakistan Syed Ali Raza Abidi was shot dead in Karachi by two unidentified men. According to reports of Pakistan Media, the assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Abidi's car on Khayaban-e-Ghazi street in DHA's Phase V. Abidi was alone in his car when he was attacked.
The former MQM leader was taken to PNS Shifa hospital by his father, where he succumbed to his injuries. Pakistan police and rangers have cordoned off the entire area and has started investigating the murder. The deceased Pakistan leader was the owner of the famous Karachi eatery, 'Biryani of the Seas'. Just a few hours before the attack, he slammed Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI)for becoming the mouthpiece of National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Abidi joined politics in 2008, and formed the Professionals Research and Advisory Council (PRAC) for MQM. He actively campaigned for the party in general elections of Pakistan of 2018 along with former convener Farooq Sattar. In September this year, Abidi had resigned from the primary membership of MQM-P due to personal reasons. In Nov 2017, he had opposed then MQM-P chief Sattar and Pak Sarzameen Party Chairman Mustafa Kamal's short-lived alliance.
