California, August 24: Billows of black smoke rising from the Tesla production plant in Fremont, California, were seen after a fire incident in the factory, said media reports. Videos showing black smoke emitting from the factory were shared on micro-blogging site Twitter.

According to preliminary data coming in, the fire reportedly broke out at around 5:30 pm local time on Thursday.

The company's CEO, Elon Musk, said that there were no injuries or damage due to the fire to the factory. He credited the fire control to the "fast response" of the Fremont Fire Department. Watch the video of the fire shared by journalist Stephen Ellison:

Fremont Fire Division Chief Doug McKelvey, while talking to the local media said that the fire incident became serious because of the power lines in the area catching fire along with the power pole.

"I was just there. Cardboard being prepped for recycling along southern fence line caught fire. Super appreciate fast response by Fremont fire dept! No injuries or damage to factory," said Elon Musk in his reply on Twitter to Electrek.Co, on the report of fire in the factory.
