El Paso, August 3: At least 19 people were reported to be killed on Saturday while several others injured after a man opened fire at a Walmart store in Texas border town of El Paso in the United States. The injured were immediately rushed to local hospital for treatment. According to reports, the shooter was in his 20s. Teen Kills Two Children in Latest US Mass Shooting.

The incident took place at 11:00 am local time at the Walmart having capacity of around 3,000 people. Police have taken the gunman into custody. The shopping centre was just a few miles away from the US-Mexico border. US Shooting : 7 Shot Dead, 3 Injured at House Party Near Ball State University.

US President Donald Trump expressed grief over the incident. He extended full support to the victims of the shooting. Trump also spoke to Governor of Texas and took  stock of the incident. In a tweet, he wrote, "Terrible shootings in El Paso, Texas. Reports are very bad, many killed. Working with State and Local authorities, and Law Enforcement. Spoke to Governor to pledge total support of Federal Government. God be with you all! Initially there were reports of shooting at multiple places in the shopping complex where the Walmart is located. But later it was found that the reports of gunshots at another nearby mall, Bassett, were not true.

Saturday's shooting came just less than a week after a gunman opened fire ion a California food festival. In the California shooting three people were reportedly killed. A 19-year-old gunman was identified as Santino William Legan. He was armed with deadly AK-47. Legan was gunned down by police within one minute of launching the attack.
