An earthquake of a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter Scale struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan on Friday. The tremors were felt in the region at 07:39 am. Till now, there are no reports of any casualty or collateral damage.

Earlier on August 8 also, an earthquake of 5.8 magnitude jolted the Hindu Kush region. The earthquake occurred 50 km from Taleqan at 6:16 am. No casualties were reported in the quake.
Spanning from Afghanistan in the west to Myanmar in the east, the Hindu Kush Himalayan Mountain range is spread over 3,500 km across eight countries including China and Pakistan. The entire area is prone to moderate to high-intensity earthquakes.
