There were no immediate reports of loss of lives or property. On June 24, a strong earthquake of 7.3-magnitude struck off the Indonesian coast. The massive quake hit the Banda Sea off Indonesia. No tsunami warning was issued. According to the USGS, the quake hit at a depth of 220 km.
In February this year, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan. The strong quake took place at 5:34 pm with an epicenter north of Kabul. The depth of the earthquake was 212 km. Mild tremors were felt all the way in Delhi and other parts of north India. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said the epicentre of the quake was Hindu Kush, which is a mountain range that stretches near the Afghan-Pakistan border, from central Afghanistan to northern Pakistan.
On June 18, at least 11 people were killed and 122 injured after China's Sichuan province was hit by two strong earthquakes, according to the state media. According to reports, the first 6.0 magnitude quake shook Changning County of Yibin City at 10:55 pm on Monday (local time) and according to the China Earthquake Centre (CENC), the second tremor of magnitude 5.3 hit the area on Tuesday morning.
