Donald Trump Wants to Deport Illegal Immigrants Without ‘Judges or Court Cases’
U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday said he wants to deport people entering U.S. illegally without judicial proceedings or court cases.
U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday said he wants to deport people entering U.S. illegally without judicial proceedings or court cases, referred to asylum seekers as an invasion by "these people" and railed against current immigration laws.
"We cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country. When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came. Our system is a mockery to good immigration policy and Law and Order. Most children come without parents..." Trump tweeted.
In a follow-up tweet, Trump said immigration policy in the U.S. is "laughed at all over the world," and "is very unfair to all of those people who have gone through the system legally and are waiting on line for years! Immigration must be based on merit."
Trump’s rant against immigration laws and asylum seekers comes days after he was made to do a U-turn on his stand of ‘zero tolerance’ – a policy which called for those entering the U.S. illegally to seek asylum to be arrested and prosecuted as criminal aliens which resulted in families being split as parents and children were separated from each other. The backlash including from his own Republican Party came after revelations that more than 2400 children , including toddlers had been separated from their parents in the past two months.
Since buckling on the issue, Trump has redoubled his criticism of U.S. immigration laws on Twitter and in speeches where he likened illegal immigrants to invaders trying to "break into" the country and ‘infest’ our country.
And earlier Sunday, Trump called for Democrats to address immigration and said his administration was doing a far better job than former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
"Democrats, fix the laws. Don't RESIST. We are doing a far better job than Bush and Obama, but we need strength and security at the Border! Cannot accept all of the people trying to break into our Country. Strong Borders, No Crime!" Trump tweeted.
U.S. immigration law provides certain rights to undocumented immigrants who enter illegally. In most cases, they are allowed a full hearing before an immigration judge before being deported.
