Washington, July 19: United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday, July 17, met Iraqi Yazidi human rights activist Nadia Murad. During the meet, Trump appeared confused and unfamiliar with the work and cause of Murad, who urged him to help the Yazidis in Iraq. Murad was kidnapped and tortured by the Islamic State (ISIS) after they invaded her village in 2014 and killed her 18 family members. US House Kills Impeachment Resolution Against US President Donald Trump.

Joined a group of survivors of religious persecution who met the US President in the Oval Office, Murad explained how her mother and six brothers were killed in front of her and 3,000 Yazidis remained missing. In an unusual reply, Trump said, "And you had the Nobel Prize? That's incredible. They gave it to you for what reason?" Pausing for a moment, the Nobel laureate explained her story again to Trump and pleaded to help the Yazidi minority. “After all this happened to me, I didn’t give up. I make it clear to everyone that ISIS raped thousands of Yazidi women. Please do something. It is not about one family,” she said.

When Murad asked US Premier to press to the Kurdish and Iraqi governments to create safer conditions for Yazidis to return, Trump started boasting of crushing the Islamic State group. “But ISIS is gone and now it’s Kurdish and who?” Trump asked, before later telling her, “I know the area very well.”

Here's how Twitter reacted to Trump's chat with Nobel Laureate:

The Yazidis are a minority group who follow an ancient faith often cited as a mixture between elements of Zoroastrianism, Islam and Christianity. However, ISIS accused them of being a devil worshipper and launched a deadly campaign against them at their bases at Mount Sinjar. They killed all the men and held women captive.
