US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who had rejected the impeachment motion for months, made an announcement after POTUS admitted that he had spoken to Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky. "Today, I'm announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry," said the Democratic congresswoman on Tuesday.

Citing Trump's admission that he talked about former Vice President Joe Biden, a leading candidate for Democratic presidential nomination, Pelosi said: "the actions of the Trump presidency revealed the dishonourable fact of the president's betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security, and betrayal of the integrity of our elections."
