Washington, may 24: The United States President Donald Trump cancelled his planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that had been scheduled for June 12 in Singapore. Trump writes to Kim Jong Un. He cancelled June 12 summit with him, citing 'tremendous anger and open hostility' in a recent statement from Pyongyang, reported Associate Press.
Trump’s decision was communicated to Kim on Thursday. North Korea on early Thursday warned the US for a “nuclear-to-nuclear” showdown if the U.S. didn’t follow through on the summit, reported Bloomberg. Trump in his letter also warned North Korea. He wrote, “You talk about your nuclear capabilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I pray to God they will never have to be used.”
Earlier this month, Trump agreed to meet Kim. Both the leaders were indulged in the war of words in most of 2017. South Korea is making its efforts to make peace with North Korea. Both the countries participated together at the Winter Olympics.
