Washington, June 15: President of the United States Donald Trump on Friday has disclosed his plans to call North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Un on June 17. I an interview with Fox News when asked about his plans on Father’s Day, Trump said, “I’m going to be calling North Korea.” Trump has also praised Kim in the interview, calling him a strong leader.

While speaking to reporters, Trump also said that he had given his number to Kim which would allow him to call directly. The US President met the North Korean Leader in Singapore on June 12. In the joint statement after the meeting, North Korea reiterated its commitment to complete ‘De-nuclearisation’. The US also promised to conduct military exercise in the Korean Peninsula. Trump also committed to providing security guarantees to North Korea.

The US President also faced criticism from Democrats. According to reports, Democrats believed that the agreement did not reveal many details. They also criticised Trump by alleging that too many concessions were given to North Korea as it is still placed under United Nations because of its nuclear program. Kim has also been criticised on the international platform for human rights abuses. Trump said that he wanted to have good relations with North Korea.

After the Summit, Trump and Kim assured to cooperate for the development of new relations between both the nations and for the promotion of peace, prosperity, and security of the Korean Peninsula and the world.
