Minneapolis, July 31: Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents on Tuesday arrested a Delta Airlines pilot at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on suspicion of being intoxicated. Soon after the report, the 37-year-old Minnesota man was removed from a fully-boarded plane by the police.

Reports from various news agencies state that the TSA allegedly found an empty bottle of alcohol and smelled alcohol on the pilot's breath. As per the initial information, reports The Tribune, that pilot was scheduled to fly to San Diego from Minneapolis. Adding more details, an airport spokesman said, "The case is still under investigation and we are awaiting final toxicology results, so a detailed report is not available at this time."

According to rules, Minnesota has a 0.04  percent legal limit for pilots. Also, the pilots are prohibited from flying within eight hours of drinking as per FAA regulations. Commenting on the incident, Delta Airlines said in its statement, "alcohol policy is among the strictest in the industry and we have no tolerance for violation. Delta is cooperating with local authorities in their investigation."
