Washington, November 9: A total of 10 million people have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States so far. According to the New York Times, the US reported its 10 millionth coronavirus case on Sunday. The worst-hit country by the pandemic recorded one million COVID-19 cases in just last 10 days. The surging US tally has pushed the overall number of global coronavirus cases beyond the 50 million mark. US COVID-19 Death Toll Expected to Reach 400,000 by February 1, 2021.

The US witnessed a sharp increase in new COVID-19 cases last week with an average daily increase of daily infections at nearly 1,00,000. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the seven-day average daily cases and deaths stood at 99,320 and 938, respectively, as of Sunday. According to Johns Hopkins University, the overall number of global coronavirus cases has surpassed the 50 million mark, while the deaths have surged to 1,255,250. As of Monday morning, the total caseload and death toll stood at 50,316,476 and 1,255,250, respectively. The United States has the world's highest number of cases and deaths.

India comes in second place in terms of cases at 85,07,755, while the country's death toll soared to 1,26,121. Brazil currently accounts for the second-highest number of fatalities at 1,62,397.
