Mumbai, August 8: A Chinese woman from Jiangsu Province village who learnt acupuncture online was sentenced to 18 months in prison after a man she treated died from heart failure. The deceased, seeking relief, paid Wang 500 yuan (USD 70) for the treatment. Wang, lacking formal training in acupuncture, was found responsible for the man's death.
Li, who was feeling unwell, sought help from Wang, a woman in his Baoying County, Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province village, known for her reputed acupuncture skills. Zhu Yuting, an assistant prosecutor in the First Prosecution Department of the People's Procuratorate of Baoying County, spoke to Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation and informed him that during the final session, Li felt severe discomfort.
