Beijing, November 5: In a remarkable case from China, a married man successfully maintained relationships with four women living in the same housing complex, including one who resided in the same building as his wife. This clandestine arrangement persisted for over four years without any of the women becoming aware of each other's existence, generating considerable astonishment on Chinese social media.

According to a report by myNews, The man, referred to by the alias Xiaojun, is a man from Jilin province in northeastern China, whose age remains unknown. Coming from a low-income background, he left school before completing his secondary education. Nonetheless, he cultivated the image of a “wealthy second-generation” individual, successfully winning over his wife, Xiaojia. Despite his mother working as a bathhouse worker and his father juggling various part-time construction jobs, Xiaojun portrayed his parents as prosperous entrepreneurs and often gifted his future wife with counterfeit luxury items purchased online. China Shocker: Doctor Punches 82-Year-Old Patient in Face During Eye Surgery, Suspended After Video Goes Viral.

After Xiaojia became pregnant, the couple formalized their marriage. However, upon learning about Xiaojun's true financial circumstances, she chose not to divorce him but instead decided to raise their child independently, ultimately forcing him to leave their home. China Horror: In a Bid To Avoid Extra Work, Woman 'Poisons' Pregnant Colleague's Drink To Stop Her From Taking Maternity Leave. China Horror: In a Bid To Avoid Extra Work, Woman 'Poisons' Pregnant Colleague's Drink To Stop Her From Taking Maternity Leave.

Just a week later, Xiaojun met another woman named Xiaohong through an online gaming platform. Employing the same deceptive strategies, he quickly gained her trust and affection. Pretending to renovate their future residence, he persuaded her to lend him 140,000 yuan (approximately $19,700), which he used entirely to uphold his facade of wealth.

Xiaojun took the extraordinary step of renting an apartment in the same building as his estranged wife, moving in with Xiaohong after she became pregnant. Incredibly, even with an estranged spouse and a new partner, he continued to pursue similar deceitful tactics with three other women in the same complex: university students Xiaomin and Xiaoxin, along with nurse Xiaolan. He swindled them out of 15,000 yuan (about USD 2,100), 10,000 yuan, and 8,000 yuan, respectively.

In April of last year, Xiaoxin urgently requested the repayment of 10,000 yuan from Xiaojun for her tuition. He met her in a rented luxury car, handing her a black plastic bag and claiming it contained 100,000 yuan, instructing her not to open it. However, after feeling neglected, she opened the bag a month later to find it filled with practice money used by banks. Outraged, she reported him to the police, leading to his arrest. Ironically, it was only after law enforcement contacted them that his legal wife and Xiaohong discovered they were both married to the same man.

The People's Procuratorate of Fengman District in Jilin City has sentenced Xiaojun to nine years and six months in prison for fraud, bigamy, and theft, along with a fine of 120,000 yuan. A total of 280,000 yuan in illegal gains was confiscated and will be returned to the victims. His case has astounded many Chinese netizens, who have expressed disbelief at how he managed to juggle relationships with five women without being discovered, with one remarking that such a storyline would be too outrageous even for TV dramas.
