Beijing, January 8: At least 20 students were injured after a man attacked them with a knife at a school in China's capital Beijing. The accused went on a stabbing spree at Beijing No. 1 Affiliated Elementary School of Xuanwu Normal School. Three students were seriously wounded but their condition was stable, according to the South China Morning Post.
The suspect was arrested by the police after the attack. Worried parents rushed to the school. A video surfaced after the stabbings show angry parents seeking details from the school staff. The motive behind the attack remains unknown.
A teacher, however, said the attacker did not use the knife. "A worker at our school attacked 20 students in a first-floor stairwell. It is not like what everyone is saying, he did not use a knife," local media was quoted the head teacher as saying.
