Meanwhile, a member of the staff at Sam's Club in Changzhou said the company was investigating the incident. However, the manufacturers of mooncakes stated that it was "impossible to have a tooth mixed in the meat filling." A spokesperson with the surname Liu said that the meat undergoes mincing. He also said that the meat is checked by an X-ray machine, which is capable of detecting bone fragments.
To assist the probe, it is learned that the manufacturer has provided surveillance footage to Sam's Club and the Changzhou market regulatory department for review. However, it must be noted that this isn't the first time that an instance of food safety issue has occurred at Sam's Club's mainland stores.
