Washington, October 22: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party has won the 2019 Canadian federal election. Donald Trump congratulated Trudeau on his hard-fought victory. In a tweet, Trump said, "I look forward to working with you towards the betterment of both our countries."
Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party has won the election but has failed to reach the majority mark. So Trudeau will lead a minority government as prime minister. The Liberals and the Conservatives were locked in a close contest this time.
According to Reuters, before the voting took place, the polls showed that the two sides were in a neck-and-neck race across the country. But Trudeau emerged victorious after contesting against Conservative leader Andrew Scheer for the chance to form the next government.
