London, July 9: British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson on Monday resigned from the UK government over differences with Prime Minister Theresa May on her Brexit plans. Johnson's exit comes shortly after Brexit Secretary David Davis submitted his resignation in opposition to May's plan of extending special rights to European Nation nations.
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, Johnson was acknowledged for his contribution as the Foreign Secretary. His replacement would be announced soon, the PMO added.
Johnson's exit has left May in a soup as the government has generated flak from a massive section of Tory conservatives for her attempts to "negate the goals of Brexit".
Johnson, along with UK National Party chief Nigel Farage, was the face of the 'Leave' campaign during Brexit.
Lauding Johnson for his resignation, Farage said he has done the "right thing" to mark his dissent. The one who should be leaving immediately, added Farage, is Prime Minister May.
Bravo @BorisJohnson. Now can we please get rid of the appalling @theresa_may and get Brexit back on track.

The Opposition Labour has lamented the "unstable" charge on may government, demanding May to step down from the prime ministerial post if she cannot form a consensus within her Cabinet.
Labour's deputy leader in the House of Commons, Tom Watson said the government is heading towards a "meltdown". The nation is left in utter chaos and mismanagement, he alleged.
Watson said May has "zero authority left" and should resign at the earliest.
UK media claims that in case of a fresh election caused due to uproar among the Tory lawmakers, the party is likely to lose majority. As seen in the snap elections called last year, the Labour had emerged as a stronger Opposition, with May barely surviving as the Prime Minister with support from far-right parties. "The coalition stands on shaky grounds," Watson claimed.
