Jake Tapper circled back to Conway’s remark, sympathising her, but Conway offered no details of the incident and the host did not ask any.
Dr Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh brought up another personal memory of the United States President’s Counselor, Kellyanne Conway. While discussing the emotional testimonies of Ford and Supreme Court nominee Kavanaugh in an interview with CNN on September 30, the Donald Trump Advisor said that she was a victim of sexual assault. “I’m a victim of sexual assault,” Conway said on “State of the Union” as a part of an extended statement in Kavanaugh’s defence and the rights of those who have been victims of assault. America’s National Sexual Assault Hotline Saw 147% Increase in Calls During Ford’s Testimony.
“I feel very empathetic, frankly, for victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment and rape,” said Conway and paused briefly. Clearing her throat, she said that even she is a victim of sexual assault. Conway continued, “I don’t expect Judge Kavanaugh or Jake Tapper or Jeff Flake or anybody to be held responsible for that. You have to be responsible for your own conduct.” CNN host Jake Tapper circled back to Conway’s remark, sympathising her, but Conway offered no details of the incident and Tapper did not ask any. However, the host asked how she reconciled her personal experience to President Trump’s statements who keeps saying people make false allegations, to which she replied, “Don’t conflate it with what happened to me ... Let's not always bring Trump into everything that happens in this universe.” Alyssa Milano Shamed for Her ‘Revealing’ Top & Recording Video at Dr Christine Blasey Ford & Brett Kavanaugh Hearing.
Ford has inspired many women to come forward and speak about the similar injustice which happened to them. Many women shared their experiences from over the world on social media platforms, while others have called news networks to recall their assaults publicly. An FBI investigation against Kavanaugh has been ordered to which, Counselor Conway said, “We trust the hard-working men and women of the FBI to do their jobs.”
