Blast Near Indian and US Embassy in China's Beijing

No reports of injuries or casualties have been heard so far. The cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained. Reports inform that the explosion took place around 1 p.m. and was heard from blocks away.

Beijing, July 26: A blast has reportedly taken place outside the US Embassy in Beijing on Thursday.  The embassy is located in Beijing’s Chaoyang District. The Israeli and South Korean embassies are also nearby. According to a tweet by ANI, it was a very low-intensity blast close to the Indian Embassy (near US Embassy). "There was an explosion at approximately 1 pm today in public space off the southeast corner of US embassy. According to the embassy’s regional security officer, there was one individual who detonated a bomb. Other than the bomber, there were no injuries", a tweet by ANI  informed.

No reports of injuries or casualties have been heard so far. The cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained. Reports inform that the explosion took place around 1 p.m. and was heard from blocks away. The Chinese and American officials have not yet commented on the incident. People on social media posted photos and videos of the aftermath of the purported explosion. Eye-witnesses reported that smoke filled the air in that area.

The blast took place at a place in Beijing where many Chinese citizens line up each day to apply for visas. Soon after the explosion, people gathered in large numbers outside the compound as smoke filled the area.
