Kabul, September 17: At least 24 people killed after a bomb exploded near an election campaign rally held by Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani in Charikar of northern Parwan province. Around 30 people were also injured in the blast. According to reports, when the blast took place, Ghani was present at the rally. The Afghan President escaped unhurt in the explosion. However, according to Afghanistan police, eight people were killed, and 10 were wounded. No terrorist group has claimed the responsibility of the explosion. Another blast rocked Afghanistan on Tuesday. The second explosion took place close to Massoud Square and US Embassy in Macroryan 2 area in the city of Kabul. No casualties have been reported till now.

On September 11, Afghan Special Forces base in Kabul was targeted by a suicide bomber. Four commandoes were killed in the blast. According to reports, the suicide bomber blew himself at the entrance to the camp in Chahar Asyab district. There has been a rise in the incidents of violence in Afghanistan after peace talks between the United States and Taliban insurgents failed.
