The vet had gone to euthanise the bison when he was attacked. The incident prompted a detailed investigation by the park’s management to ascertain the causes leading to this unfortunate event.

This is not the first time bison has injured a human in a park setting. A similar event occurred in a US nature reserve, after a British woman was left partially paralysed after being gored by a bison that tossed her 15ft into the air.

Amelia Dean was left bleeding heavily after the bison charged and one of its horns pierced her left thigh, severing the femoral artery and damaging nerves in her lower leg and between her thighs.
