Kent, October 8: A vet in UK suffered serious injuries after being savaged by a bison that tossed him 10ft into the air at Port Lympne Safari Park in Kent. The vet had gone to euthanise the bison when he was attacked. The incident prompted a detailed investigation by the park’s management to ascertain the causes leading to this unfortunate event.

Express.co.uk reported that the vet found himself at the receiving end of the bison’s wrath as it charged at him, gored him, and launched him 10 feet into the air. The animal then cut off the vet’s escape route and attacked him again, leaving a serious gash to his left leg and breaking his ribs. Bison Attack Video: Bison Suddenly Charges at People, Flings Kid Into Air; Terrifying Footage Goes Viral.

This incident has raised serious questions about the safety protocols in place at the park as this was not a one off incident. The park’s management issued a statement, expressing their deep concern for the vet’s welfare and assuring that they would provide all necessary support for his recovery.

This is not the first time bison has injured a human in a park setting. A similar event occurred in a US nature reserve, after a British woman was left partially paralysed after being gored by a bison that tossed her 15ft into the air.

Amelia Dean was left bleeding heavily after the bison charged and one of its horns pierced her left thigh, severing the femoral artery and damaging nerves in her lower leg and between her thighs.
