The incident occurred in June last year. According to the reports, the suspect, Liam Brown, 25, snuck into a farm in Burton, Dorset, at night. However, he was caught as the farmers had installed a new surveillance system.
The reports stated that the farmers had installed the system due to their increasing worries about the well-being of their farm animals. The sexual activity was confirmed by analysing a DNA sample extracted from a calf. Prosecutor Charles Nightingale told the court that Brown had been acquainted with the farmers from childhood, as his family members had previously worked for the farm. “The defendant was known to the family for several years since he was a child as members of his family used to be employed by the farm,” the Daily Mail reported, quoting Nightingale. Following the incident, Brown has refrained from visiting the farm, and the family in charge of its operations strongly desire to keep him away from the premises. During the court session at Poole Magistrates Court, Brown became emotional and wept as he admitted to charges of engaging in sexual penetration with a live animal and inflicting undue harm upon a protected animal. Reports said Brown could potentially receive a prison term, as the case has been moved to Bournemouth Crown Court. He was granted unconditional bail, and the sentencing is scheduled for September 22.
