Sydney, August 9: A 30-year-old teacher, Tayla Brailey, has been arrested and charged with multiple sexual offences involving a 17-year-old student at Lurnea High School in southwest Sydney, Australia. Brailey, who was apprehended on Tuesday, faces charges of sexual intercourse with a child under her authority, sexually touching a child under her authority, and aggravated sexual assault of a child under her authority.

New York Post reported that Brailey became hysterical upon her arrest, reportedly saying, “I am going to jail, aren’t I? I’m going to lose my family, my husband, my job.” The allegations include sending explicit videos to the student and purchasing the morning-after pill following an alleged sexual encounter. US: Texas Teacher Who Had Sex With 15-Year-Old Student While Being Pregnant and Exchanged Nudes Found Guilty, Awarded Six Years in Prison.

“The accused [allegedly] sent a number of photographs and videos of herself both naked and while she was masturbating herself,” the police facts state. “The victim also returned a number of photographs and videos of himself.”

Brailey then invited the teen to her North Wollongong home, where she allegedly kissed him before taking him to an upstairs room and masturbating him. A week later, they allegedly had sex in Brailey’s car.

Brailey reportedly contacted the student afterward to ensure he had not disclosed their encounters. The student later told police he felt pressured to send explicit images to keep Brailey “happy.” Investigations revealed Brailey had communicated with three students via social media, though she currently faces charges related to only one.

Brailey, married in 2023, was supported in court by her family. She has been suspended without pay by the Department of Education, which emphasized its commitment to student safety. Brailey was granted bail under strict conditions, including reporting to police thrice weekly and abstaining from social media.
