Rome, October 22: Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, on Friday, October 20, announced her decision to part ways with long-time partner Andrea Giambruno, a journalist by profession. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Giorgia Meloni said, "My relationship with Andrea Giambruno, which lasted almost 10 years, ends here." She further stated that their paths diverged for some time, and it was time to "acknowledge it" while announcing her separation.

The 46-year-old Italian Prime Minister's decision to separate from partner Andrea Giambruno after a 10-year-long relationship came after the television journalist drew criticism for his sexist comments. Taking to social media, Meloni said that she should not be judged for the comments made by her partner. She even stated that in the future, she would not answer questions about his behaviour. Besides the August episode, video excerpts of Andrea Giambruno's recent shows, which were broadcast off-air, allegedly showed him using foul language and even making advances toward a female colleague.

The news programme, transmitted by Mediaset, also showed Giorgia Meloni's partner asking his female colleague, "Why didn't I meet you before?". In another recording that went viral on social media, Andrea Giambruno was allegedly heard telling his female colleagues that they could work for him if they took part in group sex. While confirming his affair on record, Andrea Giambruno says, "But we're looking for a third person, as we do threesomes. Foursomes too. Would you like to be part of our working group?" The couple, who aren't married and have been long-term partners, have a seven-year-old daughter named Ginevra.
