Afghanistan: Two Children Killed in Deadly Explosion in Chahar Bolak District's Khanabad Area

At least two children were killed in an explosion in Afghanistan's northern province of Balkh. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon after one of the children touched off the mine in Chahar Bolak district's Khanabad area.

Chahar Bolak, July 15: At least two children were killed in an explosion in Afghanistan's northern province of Balkh. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon after one of the children touched off the mine in Chahar Bolak district's Khanabad area. Mohammad Haneef Rezaee, the 209 Shaheen Corps spokesman, told TOLOnews. Afghanistan: Taliban Storm Hotel in Badghis Province, Kill 10.

Rezaee blamed militants, referring to the Taliban, for planting the mine. With the aim of targeting the security forces in the region, the Taliban has been using roadside landmines, but the lethal weapons also target civilians. Afghanistan: Mortars Hit Afghan Market,14 killed, Dozens Injured.

On Saturday, five police officials were killed in Afghanistan's Gozargah-e-Noor district after a similar roadside bomb hit the police vehicle while patrolling in the area. The cops were on their way to Fring district. Two other policemen were also injured in the blast. The injured were shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
