Several gunmen attacked the 'Save the Children' office in Afghanistan's Jalalabad city on Wednesday. According to reports, two people have been killed and at least 11 people have been injured in the blast. About 50 employees were present inside the building at the time of the incident. Reports state that the attackers blew up the car outside the British charity compound using rocket-propelled grenade. Meanwhile, an eyewitness present inside the compound told AFP news agency that he witnessed a gunman hitting the main gate with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG).

Attaullah Khogyani, Nangarhar Province Governor Spokesman said that the attack started at about 09:10 (4.40 AM GMT) on Wednesday when a suicide bomber exploded a car at the entrance of the Save the Children compound. Adding to the matter Khogyani was quoted by AFP saying, ‘A group of armed men then entered the compound. So far 11 wounded people have been brought to hospitals'.
