Why Is June 6 Known As D-Day

World leaders, including Theresa May and Donald Trump join the Queen and Prince Wales to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day in Portsmouth. Around 150000 allied forces landed on five beaches in Normandy, France with a mission to free Europe from Nazi control. The operation was the largest seaborne invasion in history. The battle that initiated the invasion of Normandy is known is history as the D-Day.
