Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director Dies Of Cancer, Fashion World Mourns His Demise

Virgil Abloh, the Black designer who broke the mould with his interpretation of luxury fashion for Louis Vuitton, and with his brand Off-White, has died aged 41. Abloh, who became the highest profile black designer was battling a rare form of cancer - cardiac angiosarcoma. He succumbed to the disease on November 28, as per the bereavement notice on his Instagram account. Abloh merged streetwear with luxury as the artistic director for Louis Vuitton, and was known for cross-collaborations. His designs have been worn by Timothee Chalamet, Chadwick Boseman, and Michael B Jordan among others. Celebrities across the world expressed their shock and grief over news of Abloh’s passing.
