India’s ace wrestler Vinesh Phogat announced her retirement from wrestling. She tweeted, “Goodbye, wrestling.” This comes after her disqualification from the Paris Olympics 2024. Phogat had entered the finals of the 50 KG women’s wrestling freestyle. However, the 29-year-old was disqualified as her weight exceeded by 100 grams. Vinesh Phogat has appealed to CAS asking for a joint-silver medal. Vinesh Phogat tweeted, “Mother, wrestling beat me, I lost. Please forgive me. Your dream and my courage are all broken.
