US President Joe Biden and China’s President XI Jinping attended a virtual summit. Both the leaders traded strong warnings on the future of Taiwan. The virtual summit took place late November 15 in Washington and early on November 16 in Beijing. The summit lasted for about three and a half hours. “Some people in the US intend to 'use Taiwan to control China.' This trend is very dangerous and is like playing with fire, and those who play with fire will get burned,” Xi Jinping quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency. The White House statement read, “On Taiwan, President Biden underscored that the United States... strongly opposes unilateral efforts to change the status quo or undermine peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.” President Biden had tweeted, "I’m meeting with President Xi of the People’s Republic of China to responsibly manage the competition between our countries.” Watch the video to know more.
