UP Polls 2022 Phase 4: Voting For 59 Assembly Seats Ends

On February 23, voting was held in 59 constituencies of Uttar Pradesh in the fourth phase of assembly elections being conducted in the state. Voting was conducted in Lucknow and Lakhimpur Kheri. The voter turnout in the fourth phase was 61.6 per cent, reported NDTV. In 2017, the voter turnout was 62.7 per cent. In 2017, BJP had managed to win 51 seats. Union Minister Ajay Mishra was guarded by the police as he headed towards a poll booth to vote. Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra is a murder accused in the matter involving the death of four farmers during a protest in October last year. Voting will take place in seven phases in the state.
