Unlock 4: What Will Reopen, What Remains Shut As India Records Over 35 Lakh Coronavirus Cases

New guidelines of ‘unlock’ were released on August 30 by the government of India. The guidelines issued as part of ‘Unlock 4’ will ease more restrictions. Metro trains will be allowed to resume services in a graded manner from September 7. Social, academic, sports, entertainment, political, cultural and religious functions and gatherings will be allowed with a maximum of 100 people from September 21.

No restrictions on inter-state and intra-state movement of people and goods. Schools & educational institutions will remain shut till September 30 and online classes will continue. Government has lifted the ban on consumption of liquor, gutka and tobacco products in public places amid the pandemic Movie theatres, swimming pools, entertainment parks will remain shut. International air travel of passengers will remain banned, except for those allowed by the centre. Only essential services will be allowed in containment zones. Lockdown will continue in the containment zones till September 30. A record surge of 78,761 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours took India's COVID-19 tally past 35 lakh, the Union Health Ministry said on August 30.
