Ukraine-Russia Tensions: UK, EU, US Announce Sanctions Over Putin's Move To Recognise Separatist Regions Of Donetsk, Lugansk
On February 22, Joe Biden, US President, announced sanctions against Russia. The first tranche of sanctions include steps to starve the country of financing. The US President threatened tougher actions if Russia continued its aggression. Biden said, “We've cut off Russia's government from Western financing.” UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson also announced sanctions.
