Udyog Nagar Shoe Factory Catches Fire: Six Still Missing After Massive Blaze Doused

A fire broke out at in Delhi’s Udyog Nagar at a shoe factory and godown on June 21 morning. Six workers were rescued and six remain missing. The building has been declared dangerous by the MCD officials. Police have filed a case against the owner under IPC section 308 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder). He is absconding. The fire broke out around 8 am. 23 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, reported The Indian Express. After gauging the intensity, nine more fire tenders were sent. Officials tried to douse the blaze first before entering the building to find those missing. It took hours before the fire was brought under control. Until early evening, cooling operations were on as smoke was still coming out of the building. Watch the video to know more.
