Uddhav Thackeray Takes On BJP, Slams PM Modi Over Prophet Mohammad Remarks Controversy

On June 8, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that because of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the country had to face an embarrassing situation at the international level. CM Thackeray said the Gulf countries brought it down to its knees and was forced to apologise over the controversial remarks made by a BJP spokesperson on Prophet Mohammad. On June 5, BJP suspended party spokesperson Nupur Sharma and expelled Naveen Kumar Jindal over their comments on Prophet Mohammad.
