U.S., Taliban Sign Peace Deal: Phased Withdrawal Of Coalition Troops After 18 Years Of War
The United States and Taliban have signed an agreement which will see the former make a full withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan, where it has fought an 18-year long war. The peace deal was signed by US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad and the Taliban's chief negotiator Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar. The signing took place in Doha, Qatar which has hosted the two sides for talks previously.
