Tribal Man, Tied To Truck And Dragged On Road, Dies, Hemant Soren Condemns Incident
A 40-year-old tribal man died in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh after he was dragged by a truck with a rope tied around his feet on August 26. A group of people, suspecting him to be a thief, had beaten him up badly. Reportedly, the men called up the police, claiming they have got a thief with them. The police then reached the spot and took the severely injured man, identified as Kanha, alias Kanhiya Bheel, to the nearby community health centre. Kanhiya Bheel was referred to Neemuch district hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival. Hemant Soren, Jharkhand Chief Minister tweeted, “Every passing day, tribals & other marginal communities across the country are being treated with absolute indignity, hatred & apathy.” Meanwhile, homes of four people accused of assaulting and killing the man were demolished on August 29, reported PTI.
